Foundations believes in supporting relationship based treatment. In short, we believe working to improve your relationship will benefit your mental health and beyond. We do not accept insurance. Accepting insurance requires a mental health diagnosis that an insurance company will cover and is considered necessary by insurance (not the therapist). Marriage/Couple Therapy and other relational issues such as family adjustment following a divorce or the death of a loved one impact how we interact, think, and feel. These issues are important whether an insurance provider considers them medically necessary for treatment.
Counselors, unlike other professionals covered by health insurance, provide a treatment deeply rooted in establishing a relationship that benefits the client. While insurance makes service accessible, it also interferes with clients choosing a therapist that “fits” them personally and respects the time they need to address their concerns. Foundations sees problems as something that happens between people, not within a person and respects clients too much to diagnose one person for insurance purposes while providing relational treatment. Your relationship is too important, and we hope you understand.
We are happy to provide you with a summary of services. Foundations is out of network, does not submit claims for reimbursement, and cannot guarantee reimbursement.
