Hi there! I just wanted to take a minute and give you an idea of how I work.  I never assume it is easy for people to walk into my office and share the most intimate details of their life.  I imagine the journey to see me is one in which each person has decided to face a very difficult situation in the hope of finding a new way.  I start by listening, learning, and embracing the story of your life and relationships.  I assume your choice to seek therapy is a deeply personal reflection of something you value, the significance of regaining a lost part of yourself or healing a relationship.  I have experienced my own struggles in life and challenges in relationships. I have confronted many difficulties in personal relationships and have been healed by the ability to share my experience, voice my pain, and accept heartfelt repair.  As a therapist, I have witnessed the ability of people to do the same in their own relationships. -Shirley
